Church
About
During the Venetian period, the church functioned as a double sanctuary, serving both Orthodox and Catholic worshippers. In its present form, it is a two-aisled, timber-roofed basilica of the 18th century. Preserved to this day are the old iconostasis, the epistyle, and icons such as the Virgin Mary with Child (1556 A.D.). Of particular note are the icons of the Transfiguration of the Savior and the Virgin Mary Hodegetria. Its feast day is celebrated on August 6th.
