The Museum is housed in the restored residence of the local hero Christodoulos Kanauros. Kanauros was an active member of EOKA and took part in the liberation struggle of 1955–59 against British colonial rule. He was killed by the British at the entrance of his home, as he had offered shelter to freedom fighters — a sacrifice that left an indelible mark on the history of the community. The house, carefully restored with respect to traditional Cypriot architecture, offers visitors an authentic glimpse into the lifestyle of the time. In the lower part of the residence, originally arranged as a traditional stable, the hero’s hideout is still preserved — a powerful reminder of the courage and determination of those who fought for freedom. The museum is not merely an exhibition space; it is a living monument of memory and honor, connecting younger generations with the history and sacrifices of their ancestors.
